Dates for your diary

Another 5 weeks to go before we celebrate Christmas, and the preparations have already started. Lights are blinking and sparkling and children and even adults are getting excited. Most of us enjoy the special decoration the fragrances, the lovely gingerbread and more. If you are looking for gifts for family, friends and colleagues, why not supporting local businesses and buy your Christmas gifts from your local shop, on a Craft fair or Christmas market in your area or from somebody you know, who creates beautiful, individual or even bespoke gifts?

I have a couple of dates for your diary: You can find me with my stall and all the wonderful and magical felted Fairies, Angels, Santas, Gnomes, brooches, necklaces and wrist warmers, hats and scarves in and around Glasgow and even in Edinburgh in  "Henderson's at St John's in Edinburgh".

You will find me here:
24 th of November 11am-4pm in "Henderson's at St John's in Edinburgh"http://www.hendersonsofedinburgh.co.uk/st-johns.php
1st of December 1.30-4pm in the Fraser Centre in Milngavie village on a "Craft sale"
8th of December 11am -4pm in "Henderson's at St John's in Edinburgh"http://www.hendersonsofedinburgh.co.uk/st-johns.php

Participant's work from the Nuno felt workshop on Sunday, the 2nd of Sept. 2012 and my own latest Nuno felt scarf

We had a happy craft day with nuno felting. I love it and I'm happy to share my experience in felt making. Here you see 2 Nuno felt scarf projects from workshop participants and one of my latest Nuno felt scarves:
The fabric is cotton muslin, the wool is Merino and a little grey Shetland wool. For the embellishment hand spun wool in grey and moss green has been used.

Finished, but still wet Nuno felt Scarf

Detail from finished Nuno felt scarf

The fabric is silk chiffon and the wool is Merino and Corridale. A little bit of Angelina fiber was added, trapped with a thin layer of wool

My last Nuno felt scarf, using silk chiffon, Shetland wool in white and grey and a little swartbless wool, embellished with hand spun wool of the same qualities

Imbolc, first signs of Spring

Tree spirit

Inspired by a long countryside walk this  needle felted tree spirit was created.

Brigid with ewe and lamb
The celtic festival of Imbolc or Candlemass called in the christian tradition is the time of the first signs of Spring. Snowdrops, here on Brigid's dress are the first signs of early Spring. Newborn lambs are related to Imbolc, which means " in the belly" or "ewe's milk". Bride or Brigid is the young maiden, announcing the time of faster increasing daylight.
Below I posted an ivy fairy and a sun angel. It must have been my longing for more sunlight that made me creating this wooly angel.
