Laryna's felt workshops and fiber craft demonstrations

Get creative with colourful and natural wool fibers
~Here you can find regular and one off felt workshops~

I love fiber craft and in particular I enjoy felt making! I like to share my skills and experience in fiber craft with anybody being interested. That's why I run regular felt classes and one off felt workshops and demonstrate fiber craft.

Originally trained as a hand weaver and art therapist, I have 28 years of experience teaching individuals and groups of all ages and skill levels in fiber craft and art in workshops, classes, on craft fairs and in schools. If you want to invite me to run a workshop or teach felting, spinning and weaving, please feel free to contact me.
Would you like to have a go on some felt making using colourful wool fibers? It’s fun, relaxing and confidence building, plus can give you extra assets for your work and home life.

Monthly and fortnightly felt workshops in Glasgow and surroundings:
Felt workshops in Bishopbriggs, every second week on a  Wednesday or sometimes Thursday morning 10-11.30am in Glasgow/Bishopbriggs  Thursday 04. & Wednesday 17. & 31.  May and  14. & 28. June 2017
In a relaxed atmosphere we use colourful wool fibers to needle felt fairies, gnomes, ornaments, creatures, animals, jewellery or anything what's possible with this technique. You will learn how to use a felting needle to make a dry felt.
Sometimes we wet felt, creating flowers or a flat felt, or we use a resist to felt around for a seamless felt for a pouch.
It's a lovely bunch of creative felters, open for a chat and new people, who can join any time. We enjoy a cup of tea, while felting the fluffy sheep's wool into something beautiful.
Sessions can be booked separately. Please book one day in advance.

Felting is a traditional skill that has been practiced for thousands of years. We still practice it here in GalGael and I’m happy to show you how it works. No previous experience needed.
The aim of this workshop is to either learn the basic skills of traditional wet felting or needle felting. Or you will be able to improve your existing felt skills, using natural and colourful sheep’s wool fibres, warm water, soap and friction for wet felting or use a specific needle for needle felting.
You will:

● learn to either needle felt or wet felt, or improve your skills
● experiment with colours and design
● take home a unique piece of handmade felt.
At the end of the workshop you will have your own felted item and have learned or improved a new and traditional skill.
Cost: £5 including material.

Please, feel free to invite friends!
Please book asap, as places are limited!
GalGael office: 0141/ 427 30 70, or let Helen know when you’re in Galgael.
