Imbolc, first signs of Spring
Inspired by a long countryside walk this needle felted tree spirit was created.
Brigid with ewe and lamb
The celtic festival of Imbolc or Candlemass called in the christian tradition is the time of the first signs of Spring. Snowdrops, here on Brigid's dress are the first signs of early Spring. Newborn lambs are related to Imbolc, which means " in the belly" or "ewe's milk". Bride or Brigid is the young maiden, announcing the time of faster increasing daylight. Below I posted an ivy fairy and a sun angel. It must have been my longing for more sunlight that made me creating this wooly angel.
